American Truckers Life ("American Truckers Life," "we," "us" or "our") operates this website as an insurance lead-referral service. We are not a licensed insurance agency and this website is not an offer of insurance. Our role is to collect the information a licensed insurance professional needs in order to quote life insurance for commercial drivers, and to pass that information to one.
This Privacy Policy explains what we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. It also sets out, in detail, the consent you give us to contact you — by telephone call, text message, automated and artificial-intelligence-generated voice call, and email — when you submit a form on this site.
By using this site or submitting your information through it, you agree to this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not submit your information.
01
Information we collect
Information you give us. When you complete the rate request or the optional driver profile questionnaire, we collect what you enter. Depending on how far you go, that may include:
- your first and last name, telephone number and email address;
- your state and ZIP code;
- your date of birth, and your age derived from it;
- your marital status, and the people you intend to name as beneficiaries, including their relationship to you and, if you choose to enter it, their date of birth;
- the coverage amount you are looking for, and whether you already hold life insurance;
- the kind of driving you do — company driver, owner-operator, lease-purchase — and how long you have been doing it;
- income range, monthly household expenses, and outstanding debts such as a mortgage, a truck note, credit cards or medical bills;
- what you want the agent to cover on the call, and how you would want to use a policy’s cash value;
- the name and contact details of anyone you choose to refer to us.
Health information. Some questions touch on your general health, tobacco use or medical history, because those answers determine which carriers are likely to accept an application. You are not required to answer any of them, and we ask only for what an agent needs to avoid quoting you a rate you cannot get. Where state law treats this as sensitive personal information, we use it only to match and prepare your inquiry and we do not disclose it to advertising platforms.
Information collected automatically. When you visit, we and our analytics and advertising providers may collect your IP address, device and browser type, operating system, referring URL, the pages and form steps you interact with, and timestamps. We also capture the marketing parameters attached to the link you clicked — for example utm_source, utm_medium, utm_campaign, utm_content, utm_term and advertising click identifiers such as fbclid, gclid, ttclid or msclkid — together with the page you landed on.
We record that technical data alongside your submission so that we know which advertisement brought you here and so that we can evidence where, when and on what page your consent to be contacted was given.
Information from other sources. The licensed agents, agencies and carriers we refer you to may tell us the outcome of your inquiry. Contact-verification and consumer data providers may confirm, correct or supplement the phone number and email address you give us.
02
How we use your information
We use the information described above to:
- match you with licensed insurance agents, agencies and carriers whose products and underwriting fit your answers;
- contact you about life insurance and related insurance products, as described in the next section;
- prepare, deliver and follow up on quotes, illustrations and applications;
- create and keep the record of your consent — the page you submitted, the exact disclosure text shown to you, the date and time, and the IP address the submission came from;
- verify the information you gave us, and detect and prevent fraud and abuse;
- measure how our advertising performs, and improve the site and the questions we ask;
- comply with our legal obligations and enforce our rights.
03
Your consent to calls, texts, AI voice calls and email
This section describes the consent you give when you submit a form on this site. Read it before you submit.
By entering your telephone number and email address and clicking the submit button on any form on this site, you provide your electronic signature and your prior express written consent under the federal Telephone Consumer Protection Act ("TCPA"), the federal E-SIGN Act and applicable state law, authorizing American Truckers Life and the licensed insurance agents, agencies and insurance carriers we refer you to — each identified by name on the page where you submit — to contact you about life insurance and related insurance products at the telephone number and email address you provided, including by:
- live telephone calls, placed manually or with an automatic telephone dialing system, predictive dialer, hosted dialer or other automated dialing technology;
- telephone calls delivered by an artificial or prerecorded voice, including prerecorded messages, voicemail drops and ringless voicemail;
- telephone calls and messages placed, voiced or generated using artificial intelligence, including AI-generated, synthetic or cloned voices and conversational AI voice agents — the Federal Communications Commission treats an AI-generated voice as an artificial voice under the TCPA, and this consent covers those calls expressly;
- SMS and MMS text messages, including messages sent by an automated platform and messages whose content is drafted or generated by artificial intelligence;
- email, including automated email sequences.
You consent to be contacted at the number you provide even if that number is a mobile, wireless or VoIP number, even if you are charged for the call or message, and even if that number appears on a federal or state Do Not Call registry or on our internal do-not-call list. You confirm that you are the subscriber or the customary user of the number you entered and that you are authorized to give this consent for it.
You agree that calls, texts and messages with us and with the agents we refer you to may be recorded, monitored, transcribed or summarized for quality assurance, training and compliance purposes, including where that recording, transcription or summarization is performed by automated or AI systems. Where notice or two-party consent is required by law, you will be told at the start of the call.
Message frequency varies with how far you get in the process and whether an agent reaches you. Message and data rates may apply. Wireless carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
This consent is not a condition of purchasing any goods or services, and it is not required in order to get a quote. If you would rather not give it, do not submit the form — email or call us using the details in "Contact us" below and tell us how you want to be contacted instead, and we will honor that instead.
You may revoke this consent at any time. The next section explains how.
04
How to revoke consent, stop texts or opt out
You can revoke your consent at any time, by any reasonable means, and we will honor it promptly. The simplest ways are:
- reply STOP, END, QUIT, CANCEL, UNSUBSCRIBE or OPT OUT to any text message from us; reply HELP for assistance;
- tell the caller on any call that you do not want to be contacted again;
- use the unsubscribe link at the bottom of any marketing email;
- email us using the details in "Contact us" below, with the telephone number and email address you want removed.
A revocation applies to the number or address it identifies. Unless you tell us otherwise, we treat a revocation received on any channel as a request to stop marketing contact on every channel, and we add the number to our internal do-not-call list. We may send one confirmation of your opt-out, and we may still send you non-marketing messages about an application or policy already in progress.
Revoking consent with us does not automatically revoke consent with an agent, agency or carrier that has already received your information and contacted you. Ask that agent or agency directly, and tell us as well so we can pass the request on.
07
How long we keep it
We keep your inquiry for as long as we need it for the purposes described in this policy and for as long as the law requires. Records evidencing your consent to be contacted, and records of do-not-call and opt-out requests, are kept for at least five years, because that is the period in which a claim about a call or a text may be brought. Other records are deleted or de-identified when they are no longer needed.
08
Security
Your submission travels to us over an encrypted connection and is stored in an access-controlled database. Access is limited to people and systems that need it in order to service your inquiry. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, however, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
09
Your privacy rights
Depending on where you live, you may have some or all of the following rights: to know what personal information we hold about you and how we use and disclose it; to get a copy of it; to correct it; to have it deleted; to opt out of its sale or sharing and of targeted advertising; to limit our use of sensitive personal information; and not to be discriminated against for exercising any of these rights. Residents of California, Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, Utah, Texas, Oregon, Montana and other states with comprehensive privacy laws have these rights under their state law.
To make a request, email us using the details in "Contact us" below, and include the telephone number and email address you submitted so that we can find your record. We will take reasonable steps to verify who you are before we act, and we will respond within the time your state’s law allows — generally 45 days, extendable once where permitted. An authorized agent may make a request for you with proof of authorization.
If we deny your request, you may appeal by replying to our decision and telling us why you disagree. We will respond to an appeal within the period required by your state’s law, and we will tell you how to complain to your state attorney general if you are still not satisfied.
Some of the information collected in connection with an insurance transaction is governed by the federal Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act and by state insurance privacy laws, and may be exempt from state consumer privacy law rights. Where that is the case, we handle it under those laws instead.
10
Do Not Call
We maintain an internal do-not-call list and honor requests to be added to it. Placing your number on the National Do Not Call Registry does not, on its own, withdraw consent you have already given us in writing — but you may withdraw that consent at any time, for any reason, as described in "How to revoke consent" above, and we will honor it.
11
Children
This site is intended for adults who hold a commercial driver’s license. It is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has submitted information to us, contact us and we will delete it.
12
Other websites
This site may link to websites operated by insurance carriers, agencies or other third parties. Their privacy practices are their own, and this policy does not apply to them. Read the privacy policy of any site you go on to use.
13
What this site is not
American Truckers Life is an insurance lead-referral service, not a licensed insurance agency, and nothing on this site is an offer of insurance, a promise of coverage, or tax, legal or financial advice. All coverage is subject to underwriting approval, and rates, riders and availability vary by carrier, state, age, build and health history. See the disclaimer in the footer of every page.
14
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as our practices or the law change. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of the page, and where a change materially affects how we use information you have already given us, we will take additional steps to tell you. Continuing to use the site after an update means you accept the revised policy.
